The Bad:
Pennyjuice.com.
From a design perspective this website is a nightmare. It has to many bright colors and boxes which is very overwhelming. It makes me feel as if it was designed by kids instead of for kids. Its so confusing, Not easy to read, overstimulating. I Would remake the entire site simplifying everything and focusing on the ux. Instead of using so many colors I would use a 3 shade 2 color scheme with one extra color to add contrast in minor details.
Jamilin.com
Also super overwhelming, theres just too much going on. too may colors, elements and the video is obnoxious. I would simplify it as well bring down the colors and make the video shorter and a pop up.
The Good:
Apple.com
This is probably the best website to go to. they do everything right and are a staple for what design should look like. Apple takes complex things and makes them simple and beautiful. Their website reflects that in every way.
Toyota.com
Similar to apple Toyota does an excellent job keeping their site simple and visually appealing. Approachable and appealing is how I would describe it even though I'm not looking to buy a car its so inviting I just checked out some of them.
I agree with you! I picked Toyota as a bad one because I really wanted to challenge myself to see the bad parts of their website and let me tell you, it was super difficult! Toyota and Apple are both very great, organized, and simple websites that nearly anyone can navigate through.
ReplyDeleteAgree with you on the first two websites! If I were a designer or an owner of these companies, before launching the website, I would ask myself and my close friends again and again to get their comments to make sure that it doesn't annoy anyone :)
ReplyDeleteYou said it just right about Apple, they are organized, simple and an almost perfect example of what a website should look like, at least for what they sell!
ReplyDeleteFelipe,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you! We agreed exactly on the two excellent websites. I liked the Toyota and Apple websites. There were both clean and friendly easy to use.
The other websites were very busy and couther.

I can agree with you about pennyjuice.com. "looks like it was made by kids instead of for them". The color are very overstimulating and I do not like the homepage, it took me a second to realize the questions were the nav bar.
